Abstract: The invention describes compositions and methods for the management of hyperproliferative skin conditions such as psoriasis. The preferential composition contains a natural leukotriene inhibitor selected from Boswellia serrata gum resin, its extractives, isolates or derivatives in combination with a bioavailable organic selenium nutritional supplement. These compositions are administered orally and topically to the individual human or animal in need of treatment at optimal levels to manifest the desired benefits, with no untoward side effects.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process of preparing a synergistic composition for treating hyperproliferative dermatological conditions through oral and/or topical administration, said process comprising steps of (a) obtaining Boswellia gum extract containing boswellic acids of concentration ranging between 50 mg to 500mg; (b) obtaining selenium of concentration ranging between 10 mg to 200 mg; (c) mixing the Boswellia gum extract of step (a) with selenium of step (b), optionally along with pharmaceutically acceptable excipients; and (d) obtaining the synergistic composition for treatment of hyperproliferative dermatological conditions.
